According to the HP return policy, you can only return an HP product to HP directly in case you bought it directly at HP’s website or by phone.
With that said, in order to start the return process, the first thing that you need to do is to get in touch with HP customer support to get your RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization). As soon as you do this, you will then be able to print the return label that will be sent directly to your email address. Please notice that getting your RMA code is mandatory. After all, HP may deny your return or simply delay the entire process.

Please notice that there are some exceptions to the HP return policy. According to the HP return policy, the company won’t accept any exchanges or returns for items from the HP software, HP Retailers, HP Technical Support or HP Parts Store. In addition, you need to know that in case you used a gift card, this just can’t be returned.
What to expect from the Consumer Refund Service?
In order for HP product accept your returned item, you need to make sure that the item is in sellable condition, has all the parts includes and is as new. In case HP discovers that this isn’t the case, you may end up paying a higher restocking fee that will be directly based on the condition of the product that you decided to return.
According to the HP return policy, you can also ask for an exchange. In case the HP item arrives you home defective or damaged, HP will send you a replacement for the same item or a similar one. In case you just want to exchange the item you got for a new one, you just need to get in contact with HP customer support.
